Front Wall Lighting

For the last four years, I have been working on the Front Walls (East and West (West Side Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4). These went on either side of the Front Sidewalk. To give light to the night walkers, I needed to have some accent lights. In late November, 2013, I finalized the excavation on the West Side and connected up all the lighting to be controlled by the Home Automation System.

Here is the trench. About eight inches deep. It will have conduit running the whole length - a separate conduit for each light. I don't like trying to jam two wires down one of these 1/2 inch conduits and using onebigger one means using splitters or whatever they are called in electrospeak. Click for a Larger Image

From the other direction. You can see where the wires go through conduit cast into the wall. The yellow string helped me dig a straight trench. Click for a Larger Image

All filled and finished. Note I also added the little piece of wood to the right of the slate. That will keep the slate from getting chipped by lawn mowers. Note also the black cover on the wall. That was installed on the light box to simulate the final fixture as I was putting mortar around the light box. Click for a Larger Image
