Christmas 2013 |
2013 has come and gone, faster than the last. A very exciting and unprecedented year. Lots of changes to life. Recognition of mortality. Tough times. Excellent times. Stressfull times. Relaxing times. Pretty dynamic year. My mom died - not unexpected, but sad. All in all, it was a good thing as I was able to remind her of all she had done, for the world and for me. But I miss her. Once again, bought eclectic gifts, again from the Walmart of the Internet (called Amazon). Bought more music from iTunes than I have since 2011 (though the years back to 2006 were less than 150 each). [Sidenote: This year the music was especially good. Its the kind of music that acts as anchors, as milestones. It will always bring me back to what I was doing in 2013 when I first heard or played these songs. That's what music is supposed to do.] |
Here are some packages under the tree. Unfortunately for some, some of the best wrapped are not evident here. You can see four that have mass manufactured ribbons on light blue and red stripped paper. At least they are wrapped. Luckily, I had lots of Amazon boxes. |
I always like to highlight especially nicely wrapped presents. This one was done my small little child girl. She inherited wrapping skills from her mother, which may give you a clue as to who wraps with the manufactured bows. |
Here's the small little child girl. She has one of the same blankets that she brings out every Christmas. Here, she gets a gift of fabric, something that most girls older than 14 (and no men) like. |
Speaking of gifts that men like, here are my very favorite of all time. These are hand painted track maps of the Formula 1 tracks which we have been to in the last few years. And not just any hand - these are small little girl child hand painted. Very, very cool. Thankfully, they stayed dry following the most emotional response I have ever had to a small little child girl gift. Thank you. |
This year I found some spot lights and used some Home Automation stuff to control their on-times and brightness. I love that home automation stuff finds its way into so many aspects of my life. |
Merry Holidays and my wishes for a high nonstress and unprecedented Year of Fun for 2014 for everyone! |
