Canada, ey?

Best Western Room Lodging #1 - Aug 10-11 - Yarmouth. We arrived at the Best Western in Yarmouth in Nova Scotia late in the day on Sunday. It was quite foggy, following an afternoon riding on the Cat. Here is the inside. We had dinner at the Motel's restaurant down the street, Capt Kelly's.

The front of the Best Western the next morning. It looks quite cool in the picture, the avid web visitor remembering were were in quite northern latitudes. Well, this was the hottest, most oppressing room we were in during the whole trip - No A/C. We found the windows opened that morning. We headed out for Shellburne. Best Western in Yarmouth

The Wheelhouse in Lunenburg Lodging #2 - Aug 11-12 - Lunenburg. This is the Wheelhouse Inn in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia. It was the best of the trip, but like the Best Western, had no A/C. The Tourist Agency (? Signs) set us up.

The interior of our Wheelhouse Room. Quite luxiuroius with the paneled, cathedral ceiling and the 20cm fan. Wheelhouse Interior

Long Island Cottage Lodging #3 - Aug 12-13 - Long Island, Digby Neck, NS - The TV room of our cottage on Long Island. Once again, the exceptionally helpful people at the Visitors Center (?) found helped us book this cottage sight unseen. It was quite nice with its kitchenette and multiple bedrooms. It had a good size bathroom too.

The Island Mist Cottage as it appears from the foggy morning road, August 13, 2003. BTW, the locals were all up in arms about why the province was not going to resurface all 12 miles of the island road. Instead, they will only do six. The Island Mist Cottage - 839-2384

Annapolis Royal Lodging #4 - Aug 13-14 - Annapolis Royal, NS - Here is Junior just hitting the sheets. This place wins the "Stinkiest Room" award. It was the smoking room. When not in use by the hotel, I think it is used by local businesses as the public smoking place. Pee-U. Luckily, it had A/C (the only one).

The inviting exterior of the Annapolis Royal Inn. It had a nice gift shop and a giant, fat cat named Louie. Louie was pretty casual and certainly missed few meals. Annapolis Royal Inn

Windsor, NS Lodging #5 - Aug 14-15 - Windsor, NS - On our way out of NS and into New Brunswick, we found this little cottage room. Again a smoking room, it was the last room available. An expressionless innkeeper tolerated our arrival and warned us to stay away from the estate owner's tennis courts. To do so would have required us to leave the comforts of this two door luxury suite (with bathroom)!

The spacious living space of the Windsor cottage. Lucky we had a spare extension cord - the TV cord couldn't reach the only outlet in the whole place. We watched the Blackout of 2003 from our cramped cottage that night. Blackout 2003

St. John, NB Lodging #6 - Aug 15-16 - St. John, NB - Our last night in Canada was here in St. John. Its on the western coast of the Bay of Fundy. Again, beggars can't be choosers. We got this one at another Visitor Center (?), this one as we crossed into New Brunswick. Well, they are obviously less service oriented and had us make our own calls. I picked this one cause it had three stars. I didn't know that there were five stars.

This was a kitchenette too! That's because there were absolutely no decent restaurants in the area - just fast food. We settled for Burger King. The Rip Off
