Thomas' Cove Coastal Reserve Trail Map Canada Day 5 - Aug 15 - Windsor-to-St. John: We survived the "Great Blackout of 2003" in our little, dual doored suite in Windsor. With the grid up, we were able to shower, shave and head out to the Thomas Cove Costal Reserve nature trail.

Once on the trail, there was a bit of confusion as to the next turn. Here, Junior repositions the sign to ensure subsequent voyagers don't loose their way. Which Way Do We Go?

Lost in the Mud So, we went the wrong way. We thought we'd just stroll out on the beach. Well, once we were out about 100 yards, we stepped into the most slippery mud this side of crisco. We took off our shoes and slipped around more. Here, the girls rinse their shoes for the slogsh back.

The famous Flower Pot rocks of the Bay of Fundy at nearly high tide. Here, the tide rises more and faster than anywhere else on the planet - about 40 feet. Problem, is that the 40 feet vertical point of low tide is about 1000 ft out in the bay. Flower Pot Rocks

Flower Pot Rocks Note the water around the base of the rocks. You can just make out the beach at the right. For scale, these rocks are about 30 ft tall. At perfect high tide, the water just touches the wall at the right and nearly closes the little arch in the center.

Having spent about $30 on the view above, we left our comments. We thought we'd get more "change" for our 30 bucks. Notes on our Experience

Nice View This was one of the best views of the Bay of Fundy during the whole trip. One, there are cliffs. Two, its sunny. Three, its the ocean. Four, its free.
